9/16″ bicycle pedals – stripped crank arm thread?

I have a problem with a stripped crank arm. The thread is stripped where the pedal is attached.
It's the right crank arm, so no reason for reverse threads.
It's for a new beach cruiser, that I assembled brand new. The original stock pedal (R) clicks and became loose.
A second pair of pedals did the same, indicating that the crank arm is stripped.
How do I fix it? Or do I just brink it in to the shop? How much?

There are tools that can replace the stripped thread with a helicoil, not every shop would have one. Pedals have to be properly tightened when you install them. Remove the pedal and carefully inspect the threads, possibly the thread could be re cut with a pedal tap. This is where a well equipped bike shop becomes invaluable, even the best home bike mechanic sometimes needs help from a pro
Contact the manufacturer and tell them what happened. They should send you a new crank arm and pedals. You want to put grease on the threads so you can torque the pedals properly.
