Old-Fashioned Hard Candy
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup water
2/3 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon oil flavoring*
Food coloring as desired
Confectioners' sugar
* Oil flavoring can be purchased at drugstore or baking supply shop.
Mix sugar, water and syrup until sugar is dissolved. Boil on medium heat to 300 degrees F or hard ball stage.
Remove from heat. Add flavoring and food coloring and mix well. Odor will be extremely strong at this time, so prepare in well-ventilated kitchen. Pour in streams onto cookie sheet which has been very generously covered with confectioners' sugar. Make little ditches of confectioners' sugar so the candy does not spread too much. Sift more confectioners' sugar on top of candy streams. Cut with scissors into bite-size pieces as it begins to cool and outer edge will hold its shape. Do not wait until it is completely cooled, because it becomes hard and impossible to cut.
Yields 1 pound.

any parts store can tell you what battery is needed for your vehicle, don't worry too much about cranking amps they will sell you what is recommended for your vehicle as previously said battery should last 4-5 years. Car batteries come in various sizes and shapes you can't necessarily put just any battery in you vehicle just get what is recommended.
Marzipan Animals
I made marzipan (by accident) the other day. I thought it could be a fun treat for parents on the list to make with the kids. You can create and eat homemade marzipan animals for the holidays.
I just pigged out and ate it by the sinful spoonful all week : )
* 1 cup hughson ground blanched almond flour
* 1/4 cup butter
* 1/4 – 1/3 cup honey
* 2 teaspoons SCD legal vanilla
You would have to Check out food colorings to see if they are scd compatible for colored marzipan.
I used the food processor to combine until smooth and creamy, refrigerate until stiff enough to handle. Use like clay to form animals.
Store in the fridge to keep firm.
Chocolate-Covered Cherry Mice Recipe
* jar maraschino cherries with stems, drained and dried (see Notes)
* 6 ounces semisweet chocolate
* 1/2 tsp butter
* 1 ounce paraffin, chopped (see Notes)
* 1/2 cup chocolate chips (see Notes)
* 1/2 cup sliced almonds
* 1 tube red (clear) gel icing
PREPARATION:
Before starting, you may wish to take a look at the step-by-step instructions with photos. See link at the bottom.
Line a cookie sheet with waxed or parchment paper.
Rinse the maraschino cherries, drain thoroughly, and let dry on paper towels, turning often.The cherries must be completely dry or the chocolate will seize and get crumbly.
Gently melt chocolate, butter, and paraffin in a double boiler until smooth, stirring often to prevent burning. Once melted, turn off heat, but leave in the double-boiler on the burner.
Dip dry cherries in melted chocolate to completely cover up to the stem. Place on lined cookie sheet. Immediately press on chocolate chip, flat side to the front of the dipped cherry, to form a head.
While chocolate is still warm, wedge two sliced almonds between chocolate chip and cherry to form ears. Let cool.
Use a toothpick to dab beady red eyes on either side of the chocolate chip with the red gel icing.
Refrigerate to firmly set chocolate.
Notes: If fresh sweet cherries are in season, by all means use them. Paraffin is sold in the canning supplies section, usually under the brand Gulf Wax. You can use the giant chocolate bars for the semisweet chocolate, or semisweet baking squares, or chocolate chips. If your cherries are exceptionally large, you may wish to use chocolate kisses for the heads.
Yield: about 36 chocolate-covered mice
