how come she is using mountain bike shoes on a road bike?
@Redsonixx Many cyclists , including myself, use MTB shoes for the road. Much easier to walk in. Of course if your racing then lighter road shoes would be better. I use Crank Brothers Candy Sl for the road and Candy C for my MTB. Same system for both types of riding. Its all personal choice.
I just came back from my first ride with clipless padals on my mountain bike in off-road terrain. I fall down 3x and I might change them for old ones
.
Starting is the easy part once you get the momentum. Stopping is a bitch especially when you get some speed going. Don’t know how many times Ive fallen down already.
I was wondering if you can make one for single sided road pedals. I cant get clipped in.
Excellent and simple explanation. I love that you mentioned using a doorway to practice!
) Thank you!
hi im just learning about these clips/ pedals… where can i get the footwear from? + how do i know that they will fit the pedals i want (crankbrothers for a mountain bike). are they universal?
The pedals themselves come with cleats which are proprietary to the pedal, and you can find clipless shoes at your local bike store.
thank you.
i remember the first time i got my pedals. got them clipped in then slowed then fell to my side. i love my spd’s.

wipe with white distilled vinegar and then with soda. Rinse clean with water. also sprinkle some vinegar near the birdbath that will keep the cats away.
Sime has put my clipless pedals on my bike! I think I may wear many layers today so that I bounce when I hit the floor…
When peddling, you only use about 30% of the arc for each downstroke. Clipless peddles allow you to power through more of the rotation and also offer a push me pull you action. This gives a smoother pedling action and more power when you need it. People who ride clipless are more likely to make it through that muddy bit, or up that steep hill, because they can bring more power to bear.
A good basic model are Shimano SPD 520s.
Note: Cycle for a week, wearing your new shoes and platforms. In this manner you will get an indent in your soles that can be used as a guide when setting up your cleats.

• Start-line drama hampers Scot • Wendy Houvenaghel assured of medal After recalcitrant pedals disrupted both Great Britain’s team sprint rides Sir Chris Hoy and his team-mates, Ross Edgar and Jason Kenny, ended with a bronze medal which marked a respectable beginning for a trio still being juggled to find its perfect formation. “Respectable” is not what Great Britain’s cyclists aim for, so there is work to be done in the next two years. In qualifying third behind France and the eventual winners Germany in the three-man, three-lap event, the Great Britain trio and Hoy in particular were disrupted by a start-line drama when the Scot snapped the right pedal on his £12,000 carbon fibre bike as he rolled up the track to the starter. This is rare enough to be termed a freak accident as the last time such a thing had happened to Great Britain was 2004. “It’s the first time in my career that has happened,” said Hoy, thanking his lucky stars that the pedal had not shattered as he made his…
A preloved Trek 2300 Road Bike I bought back in the mid 90’s. This bike is all Shimano 600 components, Composite tubes and aluminum rear triangle and forks. Look clipless pedals – pretty much all original except that I had the bars re-taped a few of years ago. Bike has about 2500 original miles on it – I bought it new, can’t remember when exactly now. Will probably need new tires if you are going to ride a lot.
Take a look at the pics and e-mail me for more information.
