You need a new freewheel. You can try spraying it with WD-40 to get the pawls to work but make sure you also oil it. WD-40 is a solvent and water displacer not a good lubricant.
The ratchet pawls in your freewheel or cassette body are not engaging for some reason, they are either broken or sticking from lack of lubrication. If the former, replace. If the latter, you might be able to drip some light oil into the mechanism and free things up and get them to work again.
let out the clutch!
Not WD-40 but try something light, if you can get ahold of Tri-Flow or another spray-lubricant. If it’s light enough to spray, it will quickly soak into the freehub/freewheel if the pawls are stuck.
It sounds like your rear gears, or freewheel, isn’t working.
You need a special tool to change this, so I would suggest going to a bike shop and having them change it for you. The cost of a freewheel is about $20, and it shouldn’t be much money for the cost of labor.
Make sure the chain is actually on the teeth of your freewheel.
