What Are The Things Called That You Can Attach To Your Bicycle Pedals That…..?

I need to know the things you put on your bicycle pedals (they come seperate, and you attach them to the pedals) that you put your foot in. You dont have to have special shoes, they are just plastic things that you can add to your pedals to make it easier so you dont have to waste energy keeping your foot down. Thanks!

Toe Clips and Straps.
Most are metal, but there are plastic also.
Do you mean toe straps?
They are like a belt that helps hold the foot down. Usually combined with a light metal strut that helps hold the strap open to make getting the foot in easier. An alternative is a simple plastic strap that loops over the foot and does the same job.
Toe straps are often combined with special shoes with plastic clips on the sole that hold onto the vertical edge of platform pedals, and when the foot is held down by a tightened toe strap the rider can pedal more efficiently since s/he can both pull up and push down.
Clips and straps have largely been replaced by ‘clipless pedals’. There are many types (e.g. SPD, Look, Speedplay) , but they all do the same job … provide a retention mechanism that allows a cleat on the bottom of a cycling shoe to attach to a matching pedal, yet be released easily by rotating the foot at the ankle.
I actually find them harder to get into and out of than clipless. If you wear running shoes it’s even harder to get in and out.
I certainly understand wanting to just hop on the bike and go, not worry about special shoes.
I use BMX style pedals. You really feel very “attached” to the bike, can stand climbing, feels almost like clipped in.
No straps.
You can use 1 of 3 options.
Simple Toe Clips
Clip Pedals w/ specialized shoes.
Shoe Baskets (straps.)

Reading THE BOOK OF ELI tonight, and… no, it doesn't have subtitles, for those of you who are afraid of such things.
1. The Raveonettes are NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT shoegaze. MBV, yes. (See also: Slowdive, Ride, Spacemen 3, etc.)
2. Kevin Shields of MBV uses a pretty secretive collection of homemade gear and pedals and rise upwards of at least 40 pedals a show. HOWEVER you should probably invest in a good delay pedal, reverb unit, some graphic EQ and tons of distortion. (Big Muffs, Turbo Rats, etc.) If you want to see what kinds he uses, here's some pics of his pedal board from their most recent tour:
And here's one of his setups circa 1991:
A Place to Bury Strangers is pretty rooted in shoegaze, and their guitarist makes his own pedals and sells them online here; they're pricey but they are absolutely amazing in terms of the sounds they generate: http://www.deathbyaudio.net/
I’m back! Actually I was back yesterday but did not have time to blog at all due to work (went from airport to meeting!) and catching up with family. Below are some of the photos that I took on Day 1 of my 4 day trip to Seoul, Korea for the LG Blogger Forum where we [...]

hah, you should attach one string to something hideous, like a bear tooth or something
think you can get it thru iTunes. It's called Run This Town
Most dSLR's have a PC port on the body to do this, with supplied software. If you have a point and shoot digital camera, you may be out of luck. Even with dSLR's, you can't actually compose the photo on the screen since the sensor isn't a "live" sensor, and image only is captured when the shutter is activated.
Leaf, a manufacturer of digital backs for medium format cameras, does have a digital back that you can do this with. Then again, they cost about $14K.
I really don't think it's possible to do this if you have a dSLR, or a point and shoot.
Yayea!!!RT #imfromnashville Where there's projects called "Dodge City"

The story about mobile phoneFirst english baby blogMobile phones have become the most fascinating gadgets acquiring the appreciation worldwide. Mobile phone is also called cellular phone because the mobile phone operates on antennas installed in base stations known as cells. A few years ago, the land phone was the kind of the communication world. Then the mobile phone strolled to capture the minds of ladies and gents and ruled the roost since then. As a matter of fact, the initial mobile phones are much bigger than the sleek and slim mobile today. They remained fixed in one place instead of your palms. After a few years, mobile phones were manufactured in large quantity and offered to customers for sale. Since then the popularity of the mobile phone has been taking leaps and bounds all over the world. The mobile phone technology is constantly evolving to such an extent that a new model with unique functions is introduced every now and then. Now it is possible to do a large number…
You're right, Headphone Splitters don't work properly. Due to the way the Rock Band pedal is designed, you can't have one pedal down and still use the other. The two solutions for this are:
1.The Twin Rocker – Similar to a headphone splitter, it has a custom circuit in it which allows each pedal to be activated even when one it already down. You need to get a specific Twin Rocker depending on your drumkit
2. The Official Rock Band Pedal (With Splitter) – This comes with a specially designed adaptor (Which uses 3 AAA batteries). This works with Rock Band 1 and 2 drumkits.
Option 1 is probably the best unless you want a spare pedal.
Crazy Carpet dude… nice pedals.
no need for gears if your just using it in the city.
RT DJ Tony and I pick them. RT catching up on dvr'ed ellens today- how do you pick out the song that you dance to every day??
Ok first off, Tube Amps aren't the gods people claim them too be. Just there happens to be a lot more good tube amps then solidstate ones. This sort of talk comes from people who have been brain washed by another ignorant guitar player.
Dude if you just want to learn the sounds and effects there are like chorus, flang, ext…
Go check out a Line 6 amp with a lot of knobs. The reason I say a Line 6 amp is because pedals do the same thing as these heads. Effects are effects.
Lets say you try some effects pedals, the amp you play them through could mess up the sound. So just try to line 6 and you'll learn pretty quickly.
Digitech multi effects pedals are good though. I'll admit. I have one I mess around with from time too time. Get them used though!

Apparently it does. There might be taurine in there as well which you might also be feeling.
