What Size Wrench Can I Use To To Install New Bicycle Pedals?

I just got clipless SPD pedals for my bike. I don't have that special tool to remove/install pedals. What size wrench (standard/metric) can I use to substitute for that special tool?

US $.98

Yes I’d agree most pedals will use a 15mm wrench, but 9 times out of 10 a standard 15mm wrench will not fit for use on a pedal application. Even though the size is right the wrenches thickness will not allow the application of the standard wrench. I can tell you this because I use Shimano SPD and the standard wrench (Will Not Fit.) Pedal wrenches are a lot thinner. If your pedals have extended spindles a standard wrench may fit, that would be the only way. The pedal wrench you will need will cost as little as $13.99 and maybe cheaper. check the site below. there are five listed, I would also check at a bike shop to see if maybe there prices are cheaper.
Most pedals use a 15 mm wrench. Sometimes they have an allen key hole in the end of the pedal that is 8 mm. The left side pedal has left handed threads so you turn them clock wise to remove. Stand over the bike and position the pedals to get the max leverage.http://bicycletutor.com/replace-pedals/
Most pedals use a standard 15mm wrench.
Some also can use an Allen key on the end of the axle.
Remember left side of bike, LEFT hand threads, right side of bike, RIGHT hand threads.
15mm usually works fine, just remember to reverse the threads when removing and placing on.

I rest my foot on the front wheel of parked cars all the time. SUVs are particularly comfortable.
I often wonder if there isn’t a technical solution on the bicycle to avoid putting my foot down, lke little training wheels could go up and down easily. I hate putting my foot down when I’m on the bike.
(I do completely get off the bike and walk it when I want to go through a red light. It’s a way to avoid the 90-euro fine (I think; dunno what the jaywalking fine is, if there is one), it feels safer, and it’s more polite towards any pedestrians around.)
At two places during the Detroit auto show—first circulating on a Cobo Hall press-room table, then later slipped under my hotel-room door—I found a leaflet entitled: “Toyota: A Danger to America,” carrying the footer, “I ain’t dying for a Toyota.” Wearing the language and design earmarks of auto-industry union propaganda (yes, I’m a Michigan native), it has a paragraph questioning Toyota’s safety and reliability, and mentioning the automaker’s 3.8-million-vehicle recall to fix throttle pedals. I have/ used this cage and I think it would be pretty good.
It comes with a whole load of supplies at Petco, though. You can use anything that comes with the cage that isn't edible. I remember when I got it they gave me crap food and treats.
I know lots of people that get Martin's cages. Some are collapsible and I think you can get them custom-made.

you’re a moron. been playing since 2006 and you have all the nicest gear imaginable??? work on your skills as a player before buying all this dumb shit. sell your home studio and your pedal board. get one good amp and one good guitar and lock yourself up in your bedroom for about a year or two. you’ll probably think about all this goofy, gimmicky shit differently
do sit ups
this is why we have iTunes U. so either these chatty broads or me can stay home and avoid each other. why monkey wrench a good thing, KB?

There are several products out there that do just what you want:
Voodoo Labs makes my favorite multiple output pedal board power supply. I just installed one of the newest ones on a pedal board last weekend:
Each power output is isolated, you can get 18V is needed (if you have Line 6 pedals, you'll need it), and a couple of outputs can mimic a partially discharged battery (that some guys like with certain effects).
Visual Sound sells something they call the 1Spot, which is a small switching power supply and the adapter cables that you'll need:
I'm not a fan of using devices like this on a pedal board. Switching supplies are by design sources of noise. If you're not using a lot of high-gain pedals on your board, it wil probably work for you.
Good luck.

You will have to cut it, at each corner

If the alarm is any good, then surely the alarm will go off if anyone tries to remove the bicycle or if anyone tries to remove the alarm from the bicycle.
Personally I hope that it is bomb proof and very very loud as people tend to ignore car alarms. Don't forget to fit a decent conventional bike lock.
AP – Reports of sudden acceleration in the Toyota Prius have spiked across the country. But that doesn’t mean there’s an epidemic of bad gas pedals in the popular hybrid.

that all depends on whether you are looking for air powered or ac powered but either way 450 ft lbs should get you though most situations. Anything that requires more torque than that just get a $5 steel tube and a breaker bar you can get up to 5 feet safely and break those frozen nuts.

Get together a race team, and do some races. Get seen on the bike.
I had friend start a bike company (singlespeed), got a team together for a 24 hr relay, got a tent there, gave a prize bike away (giveaway)…
Next year, his booth was bigger, there were two teams, and sales are great! I've seen a few of them downtown too!
The non-megacorporate bike community is a niche, and best way in is to be seen and heard by those in it.
Ever consider a venture capitalist? If its a good idea, and you're willing to give up some control…
if you try to low it the travel play end to stop it shorten and the gas to open full throttle for passing would be miss check for an adjustment nut at the other end of the pedal, might think making a floor mat thick solid material secure to the floor bracket to the material to the car structure for safety reasons fix it in place. think out of the box. measure the height in the area that is need. or use the old mat as a template
